Have you seen these pants?

I feel a bit like putting up Missing pants posters. For transmogrification purposes, can anyone please help me and tell me what pants I'm wearing on this picture? It ought to be some leather healing pants somewhere between T5/t6 content but I can't remember what the name was and I haven't found them on wowhead either ^^

They are my favorite pants ever, I know that there are feral pants called Clefthoof Hide Legging that look the same if I'm not mistaken. It would be nice to find out if they are still available in the game somehow or if it's a lost case looking like that again.

What I've been up to

I'd like to thank Blizzard for designing a great looking set again. I managed to get 5/5 in the resto suite recently and it looks fantastic. Just keep the T9 and T10 design person away from his keyboard.



We've been clearing all bosses on normal mode each week, getting Halfus down on heroic and trying for Conclave of wind on heroic. It's not that easy that one.

I haven't been playing anything at all outside of raids for the last couple of weeks. It's been a long time since I even did a single daily heroic. I wonder how connected that is to not being able to improve my character outside of raids and if that is what makes me lose interest. I still have a couple of achievements left for the heroic dungeon mount that I'd like to finish someday.

With Loremaster of Cataclysm done on my main I'm waiting for some extra energy to start leveling my mage and dk. Both are 81 for the moment, my dk from jewelcrafting dailies alone. I did start to quest some on my mage in Hyjal and it's really a lot quicker the second time around. The heirloom cloak, the guild perks, not having a gathering profession, not reading all the quest text the second time around, fire mage burst dps. The difference is striking.

Sunken Temple revisited

I got some tanking practice done on my lvl 53 paladin the other day. It was the first instance I've ever tanked on my paladin actually. With the help of a friend on his lvl 60 hunter alt we cleared all of Sunken Temple. We only skipped the Avatar of Hakkar as we didn't have an egg or scroll to summon him.

It was really fun going without a healer or other dps. I got to practice abilities and tanking in general and my friend got to practice cc and traps in our own pace. The level discrepancy felt pretty balanced to make up for our numbers and lack of healer, we were never really close to wiping but it still felt like we had to have a plan.

Falling at the finish line

This is me practicing how to solo and survive instances as a protection paladin (lvl 51). I cleared most of the first long stretch, about 8 groups in. From there I fled a long, long way with bubble, potion, hands, stuns and heals but it wasn't enough in the end.

A group with 3 healers in Zul Farrak was too tricky for me since I'm not very good at this protectiony stuff yet. Getting more adds when I ran away didn't exactly help. In my experience, learning a new class and spec also leaves you with those seconds of "Ok, so what can I do know?" where you're just wasting time doing nothing while on your main character you just do stuff that works to survive on instinct. I just realized near the entrance that I could stun the mobs with an engineering bomb but as I threw it at them a caster got me right where I fell :/

I was so close to getting out!

Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger

As our guild had a second [Shadowmourne] present for our last kill of the Lich King I was lucky to win the [Reins of the Crimson Deathcharger] from the extra loot that follows from that event.

Perhaps not a very druidic mount but I like it!



Now I may level my long forgotten paladin in STV or maybe I'll get stuck reading about paladin mechanics first.

Any chance this can be correct? It seems I'm ranked #2 by gear score on the Alliance side and #13 overall for my realm according to GuildOx.



If we for a moment ignore the awesome guild of Barbarians that are a special breed then I'm not in a bad position. Not that I care! Oh well, I do care a bit I guess. It's sort of fun to be ranked high on a list even though it's based on something completely arbitrary as item level and not skill. At least it says I'm there to see bosses go down so I probably contribute a bit and I'm lucky with RNG getting my gear fairly quickly which means I raid often enough which probably means I'm doing a good job since I get to go and that should indicate at least some skill. So there! :b

Mixed updates

The guild reached 11/12 of ICC 10 heroic this weekend. They even managed a realm first of Sindragosa. I've gotten 5/12 down so far, the first three and Rotface and Festergut.

Believe it or not but tonight we actually had a 10,6% wipe on Lich King 25 man ^^
That was brutal (you win the fight at 10% if you don't know already). I was second last to die and did some Moonfire spamming in the end but it didn't quite help. I do think we will get him down soon now, we're getting more and more stable into the end of the fight.

I had a fun conversation with an in-game friend about whether or not we've let people at our workplace know that we play. Personally I don't hide it, there are some others that play and it's fun to talk about raids and lore and I occasionally use some wallpapers on my computer that let my habit show. My friend though is secretive about it. He's my favorite mage and has been around since 2006 raiding all content since Karazhan up to current content. He told me this:

A girl that works for me just started enthusing about how great WoW was and how I should play it - she's level 8 already - I let her talk :)
Oh wow, you didn't mention you play?
No - I asked lots of noob questions :] At one point she said another colleague played but she was obsessed and had a character who was like lvl 37 or something - I said "wow that must have taken months" with a straight face :)

What about you, do you hide playing, just don't bother to mention it but won't deny it if asked or do you talk about it all the time? Is it irrelevant or are you worried about being "branded" a WoW-player at work?

I've also rolled a baby horde shadow priest on EU-Turalyon as I want at least one character to level and see the horde side of things. She's level 17 now and has already amassed about 250g from AH business :) I've joined a guild as a pure social member and they seem to have a really nice and funny atmosphere. Here's an excerpt from the guild chat:

Appreciate the details

A nice thing about bringing a fine [Ornate Spyglass] to a raid is that it gives you a chance to appreciate a lot of the details that you might otherwise miss.



I love delightful raid jargon as you might know. That's why I want to share a discussion from last week while our main tank Bradan (a dwarf) was tanking a huge Decaying Colossus in ICC.

[Druid]: So which one is Bradan?
[Paladin]: Can't you see?
[Druid]: Hard to tell.
[Paladin]: The one that looks like a ball.
[Rogue]: I'm not even sure which one to DPS.

Anzu, Reins of the Raven Lord achieved!

Tonight after nearly two weeks of soloing Anzu every night I was lucky to have
[Reins of the Raven Lord] drop for me!

At least I passed 6000 achivement points

I'm not sure how serious I am about achievements. I have no intention of getting them all done but it's fun chasing them. Sure I've gone out of my way to get a few of them done but a lot of them just comes from normal playing and raiding.

It feels like a bit of a milestone to pass 6000 points anyway which I did tonight. I've largely left the PvP ones be.

Here I got [The Czar of Sporeggar] combined with [25 Exalted Reputations]. It was really quick and easy going from about 1000/21000 to exalted as a lvl 80 moonkin. Poor nagas, one moonfire and insect swarm per mob. I celebrated by getting the [Tiny Sporebat] and the [Sporeggar Tabard]!


I got my first 10 man Hard mode done tonight for [Glory of the Ulduar Raider] namely Thorims [Lose your Illusion]. Since we haven't got enough people online for full 25 man clears we're organizing to get the 310% speed mount from Ulduar for as many as possible. Most people in the guild have the Naxx 10 man mount but the Ulduar one is nice looking and it provides a challenge and a goal.


The last one is a bit of a reputation and title spam as I got 3 titles in one go.
Ambassador, Crusader and 'of the Exodar' by doing the Draenei starting zone quests.


I've also tried Mimirons [Firefighter] and it's pretty tough. We spent 1 hour trying it last night and 2 hours tonight and we've made it to 3 sub 15% attempts in P4. It feels very doable but just needs to click.

Faction change?

Faction-Change Service in the Works

Not sure what I think of that yet. Change of race would be weird. Faction change like some sort of betrayal would be far more interesting and would lead to a very mixed population.

I still think that you should learn the lesson that choice have consequences. It's easy enough to reroll and powerlevel.

I got a Fragment of Val'anyr!

I'm extremely proud because I've been chosen to be the first to receive the legendary mace from Ulduar, Val'anyr - Hammer of Ancient Kings, on account of being the oldest, still active healer in the guild. It's 22 months now still going strong.

This thursday the first [Fragment of Val'anyr] dropped for me! Only 29 to go! ;)


I've also been extremely lucky to get the [Sea Turtle] from fishing, it's so cute! I got my first Ulduar loot: [Phaelia's Vestments of the Sprouting Seed] and [Bracers of the Broodmother].

In our first week in Ulduar we went there on wednesday, thursday, sunday, monday and tuesday and we got 1 boss down per evening and got good experience from the next one. Yesterday on our first night this reset we got 5 bosses down on the first night. Flame Leviathan, Deconstructor, Kologarn, Council and Razorscale. This has set us up for good progress time for the rest of the week! I hope to see more content conquered!

Coin of Ancestry surplus?

Have you got any [Coin of Ancestry] left after buying everything you want from the Lunar Festival merchants?

Have you taken a good look at the [Festival Dumplings]? One coin gives you eight dumplings. 4% health and 3% mana regen along with your natural regen means that it scales extremely well. The only problem is the limited stack size, only 20. I could easily buy more than four hundred!

To Honor One's Elders

Once Wintergrasp was won I scurried over to get this one completed:


I started pretty late on saturday and went on until I only had a little bit of Northrend left. Then I patiently waited for Alliance to win. That's another title to check off.

Lunar Festival and Elder help

There's a nice summary of the holiday to be found over at /hug. There's also a nice guide at wowwiki.

As I was about to start visiting all the elders in the world I thought that there should be some clever way of importing waypoints or something in a Cartographer/Questhelper/tomtom sort of way.

I looked around and found Tourguide with the module Tourguide - The Lunar Festival. Very nice! Just activate the guide and tick of the progress. It works with Lightheaded and puts waypoints on the map which the waypoint arrow of tomtom updates on.
