30 fragments to remind me...

I need to sort of quote Keeva here.
I have five thirty fragments sitting in my bag. Five Thirty fragments to remind me of the fantastic team I was once part of, that I poured my heart into, but will never get back.

Instead of posting a run list to TotC tonight, our GM posted a good bye post instead. He has decided to try a realm transfer and join a top guild where he can focus more on raiding and less on guild management. For our guild, this will more than likely mean the death of serious raiding as we were extremely dependent on his raid leading. He was so good at it and had full attendance that there were never any need for an alternate leader but this created our dependence on him. We never did raid with Teamspeak/Ventrilo so instead we got used to his macros and fast typing and it was the way we did things and we were damn good at it.

I've had a fantastic time and it's been a great journey to see this guild grow from a bunch or green/blue geared players starting out in Karazhan into becoming one of the most established, well respected and successful top guilds of the realm.

What happens now? I don't know...I may take a break from raiding or look for a realm transfer to continue with competitive raiding somewhere nice. I'd like to think I'm capable of making a good application.

30 fragments collecting dust in my inventory feels weird. Should I perhaps spam trade chat with "WTB Yogg+3, 80k gold PST".

There were a lot of emotions in guild chat tonight and chocolate sales went reportedly up in Europe this evening. Someone said "I better put on Marley & me so I've got a cover for why I'm upset if my wife wonders". Sure it's only a game and you might think it's weird that people get emotional about something like this but more than a game I'd say that it's an experience with real people behind it and that's what causes emotions. It's only natural that bonds form with people whenever you experience things with them and especially so over time.

Maybe a shaman in the guild expressed it best:
[Shaman] has earned the achievement [Traveler's Tundra Mammoth]!
[Shaman]: hm
[Shaman]: no, didn't work
[Shaman]: still unhappy
[Warlock]: lol
[Priest]: lol
[Druid]: haha
[Shaman]: that helps tho :b

Nin, I am so sorry =(

I would like to encourage you to find someone to go in and finish it out with. I'm sure if there are other guilds on your server that have done it before, you could tag along!

*hugs*

:( this is a sad post :(

There's no one in your guild that could pick up the reins?

I cried a good deal when my first raiding guild disbanded.. game or not.. the bonds formed are real enough. 'Nuff said.. if ppl don't get it, nothing you can say will make them, if they do, you don't need to justify it.

As far as the fragments I know that there are guilds on my server that are forging maces for other ppl.. I have no idea what they charge, but surely anyone that can do it for their guild would consider doing it for some fee for a non-guildie.

I know it's probably too early to approach you, but we would really need you in our team, a great, stable guild on an EU realm. We're about the same level of progression as you, and I'm pretty certain you could complete your weapon under our roof.

When you're done mourning and starting too look around, I suggest that you check us out.

Recruitment most is here:

I would have written you privately if I had only been able to find a way to contact you. If you want to discuss it, feel free to contact me, e-mail address is at my blog.

Thank you all!

I'm going to take a week off before I decide what I'm going to do. I enjoy raiding way too much to give it up so I will find a way to continue doing it.

About the mace, I'd prefer it if I could find a guild where I could belong and earn the right to forge it rather than pay gold to strangers. The context of getting it done matters more to me than the item itself I think.

There is unfortunately nobody in the guild that could pick up the reins and perform at the level we are used to. Many are talking of realm and faction transfers, I think people don't want our raiding to deteriorate and would rather stop doing it in this guild and let it be a fond memory of how good we were instead.

Thank you for the offer Larísa! I will check it out when I start looking! :)

I agree about the mace. The druid I know had apped to the guild she got it forged by, they did it for free. I wouldn't want to get it forged with ppl I didn't know. But ya never know how other ppl feel about such things ;)

Enjoy your week to yourself.
Good luck when you start looking again. I'm sure you don't need luck and can go anywhere you'd like ;) At least on my server, a good resto druid is rare. But I hope you find somewhere the ppl are nice.

Visiting you from Larisa, I know that it seems hard to pick up the pieces now but you will and can move on to a new home. It is good to grieve but don't dwell on it. I don't think there was anything you did to warrant the situation nor was there anything you could have done to prevent it apparently. Right now, you're a victim of the consequences of one person's choices and it is hurtful when it feels like you are so powerless in what happens to you. Just know that you can make do with whatever cards you have dealt, no matter how crappy you feel right now.

Things will get better, I wish you the best.

Thank you! I feel fine about it though. I'm not devastated and I don't see myself like a victim here. I just feel pretty nostalgic about the whole thing and I know I'll miss the comradeship.

Awe :( You will find a new guild ( if you wish) that will get you that mace -or I hope someone steps up to the plate and continues to lead the guild you love.

Hello.
If you by prattle mean "To talk or chatter idly or meaninglessly" and by distraught mean "Deeply agitated, as from emotional conflict" then I'm afraid I have no idea what you are talking about in your post.

Short answer: Yes, he was that good.

Long answer: That one person and his girlfriend built the guild from nothing and put in an immense effort to keep it going. Yes, the 24 others where capable players but we raided more like a military unit with firm leadership than a democracy. Our raid leader worked out our strategies, analyzed our mistakes after each wipe, encouraged everyone to do better and kept the mood of the raid positive while keeping discipline high. Good leadership is important and not easily replaced.

We didn't need him to beat the encounters themselves because that's what addons can help you do like you say. We needed him for all the planning and management work and other things he did between the fights and outside the raids.

I did not mean any disrespect, it may have been a poor choice of words on my part. I still believe that you all could pull yourselves up and prevail!

I think you are looking at this from a distant perspective and without access to much details it's too easy to make assumptions and project your own experiences into this.

I think we could have continued for a while yes but we all agreed that it wouldn't be the same without him and we moved on. He was the heart and soul of the raids.

I know I'm behind the times. I'm avoiding most things WoW more and more for... a variety of reasons. Maybe someday I will blog about them.

But I thought I would throw my love your way and let you know I hope your new guild works out freaking awesome for you. I have been reading your blog longer running than like any other, even if I come and go I always come back! You deserve something great for all your dedication and HoT skill. And taste in music... I can't help but have a special spot in my heart for your taste in music!

Thank you Aertimus! :) That is deeply appreciated! Your comments is one of my reasons for why it's fun to write this blog ;)

Good luck with every and any of your reasons and I hope it works out!
