Beirut - Vagabond

Beirut has released a new wonderful album called The Rip Tide that I suggest you buy.

My favourite track so far is Vagabond, I found this video that went well with it. Blatantly stolen from The Cat Piano so I'll link the original work below it.

Now
as the air grows cold
the trees unfold
And I am lost and not found

The Head and the Heart - Down in the valley

Heya,

I can tell my interest in this game has been waning as it's been over a month since I last posted something. I haven't really been playing much and as such I haven't had much to say.

Beruthiel wrote an interesting post that I can relate to in many ways. I've felt relieved when raids have been cancelled lately and raiding has mostly felt like a chore for a couple of weeks. I've been choosing other activities over Azerothian ones in most scenarios. That's what non-stop raiding for 4 years will do I guess. I'm not giving up on the game though, I'm just fed up with this raid tier. Hard modes really need to be something you activate by engaging differently with the bosses rather than something you right click for a larger health pool and greater incoming damage...so uninspiring ^^ Firelands and patch 4.2 will get it right and be fun I hope.

This is why I've decided to take a break from raiding for a while. I might play a little WoW anyway but in that case it will probably be some 5 mans on alts and perhaps some archeology. I just don't have the energy to commit to being online at certain hours as things stand right now.

I'm not really expecting to write anything interesting here until I've got something to say about raiding in Firelands. It's been a while since I shared some great music so here's a treat from me.

My current favorite musicians: The Head and the Heart!

Vincent - Baby Hurricane

I like this song! It puts me in a good mood! I'm getting some vibes of Caesars and Eskobar in there. (great video too!)

B.Y.O.B. vs J Majik & Wickaman - Save My Life

This is a nice track to run around in Stranglethorn with, judging and consecrating stuff!

Donkeyboy - Sometimes

/swoon
/cheer
All these thoughts come to my head...

But sometimes I need somebody who can make me feel alright
Shades me from the streetlight
I’m breaking up
I need someone who needs somebody now

This song puts me in a fantastic mood!

Nighttime swedish music

Time to share some gorgeous music, this time by swedish artists. Both tracks have that melancholic touch that I'm so attracted to.

Marina and the Diamonds - I am not a robot

I adore this!

Tonight is a night of retro 10 man Ulduar hard modes! I never even bothered to clear the place once back then as I focused completely on the 25 man version when it was current content. Because I had to have 100% attendance for Val'anyr fragments I didn't want to risk burning out back then. Now it another matter though...charge forth!

Lowood - Crash

It's been a while since I posted some music I really like so here goes:

Metric - Help I'm alive

Ellie Goulding - 'Under the Sheets (She Is Danger Remix)'

If you've been reading this blog for a while then you've noticed that I mix writing about WoW with linking music that I like. I realize this will drive some readers away since you don't expect a blog about WoW to contain posts about other than that. I just love listening to music while working and playing and it seeps into this place of expression. Life just feels better with a beat in the background if you know what I mean and if you're a bit like me then I hope you'll appreciate it :)

Bat for Lashes - Daniel

This may very well be the best live performance I've ever heard.

And as my heart spun round
My dreams pulled me from the ground
Forever to search for the flame
For home again...
For home again...

Built to spill - Liar

Such a great song! Too bad I couldn't find it in better sound quality though
When things are all you think of
And plans are all you make
And thoughts are all you dream of
And falls are all you take

Crystal Castles - Untrust Us

Found another track that makes a good background for gaming.

Emiliana Torrini - Hold Heart

Matches my mood quite nicely.

First impression of Heroic 10 man Trial of the Crusader

I really like it a lot! Raiding feels like a challenge again!

I couldn't find much info on the heroic bosses but I used Heroic Trial of the Crusader Encounters as reference on what abilities there are to look out for. Rather than me describing them all over I recommend looking through that article.

My first thought on Gormok the Impaler was "-Are you serious?". He hit the tanks hard. We had a couple of tank deaths on him but on our third or fourth try we made it to the worms and then died from some poison confusion. We got to Icehowl on the fifth try total I think and one-shot him.

Jaraxxus took maybe 3-5 tries and here you want to kill the portals and volcanoes or they will just keep spawning adds and you'll be overrun.

I think we got the champions on the second or third try but don't ask me how :) It was a clean kill though. I didn't really notice any new abilities or effects, just that they hurt more.

Then we sort of got into trouble with the Twins so they are still alive. We're down to just above 30 attemps left on our tribute run with Twins and Anub'arak still standing. It should be doable!

On another note, I'm really enjoying leveling my Death Knight who is level 64 for the moment. I just read up on talents, rotations and glyphs so I feel like I know what I'm doing. I went with the Unholy tree as that's the tree I enjoyed the most when I ran him through the starting zone so long ago without really knowing the class well. I took him through the Plaguelands back then for some questing but once he got to Stormwind he got stuck in the AH making money. My intention was to reach level 65 so I could learn the Northrend glyphs but I think I'm surprised at how fun he is to play so I'm very likely to keep leveling him when I have the time.

Here's some grinding music to enjoy!

Boy 8-Bit

I've discovered Boy 8-Bit and want to share two great tracks!
First his own very hypnotic: Baltic Pine

Second his amazing effort on Florence and the Machines track:
Drumming song

"There's a drumming noise inside my head
That starts when you're around
I swear that you could hear it
It makes such an all mighty sound"
